Since the inception of the organization, we have relied on contributions from believers like you. Hejrat Foundation is a non-profit organization in compliance with Section 501(c)(3) which means all of your contributions are tax-deductable.

We continue to require assistance and support from community members in order to be able to continue to provide services to the community. Your tax deductible donation can go towards any of the following causes:

General Masjed Donation

This helps us keep the light of the mosque on. Donations made through this option will go towards utility bills, mortgage payments, speaker costs, and food.

Sadaqa (charity)

Help someone who is in need. Often in times of difficulty and financial strain muslims will look towards the mosque to provide them with some assistance. If you choose this option we will be able to help them whilst preserving their honor and dignity.

Khums (Islamic Tax)

Khums literally means one-fifth or 20%. In Islamic legal terminology it is reffered to as one-fifth of certain items which a person acquires as wealth and does not use for a given year. This must be paid as an Islamic tax more info.

Hejrat Foundation has permission from the maraji’ to collect khums on their behalf. The portion of the Imam is aollocated to the masjed and the portion of the sadat is sent back to the offices of the maraji’.

If you would like to see a letter of our permission to collect khums on behalf of any marija’ please email mousavi@hejrat.org.
